About
Hi there, my name is Shelley and I live and work in beautiful Rye, East Sussex. My two big passions – art and books - are reflected in my chosen career paths. I have worked in museums and galleries nationwide, lectured in Arts Management and Cultural Policy and taught English at secondary level as well as KS2 (7-11yrs) at primary.

When working with art in a public setting the conversation of subjectivity came up a lot. What I’ve taken away from these interactions is that we do all see things differently and that’s a good thing. We all interpret the world in relation to our histories and our present. This is one of the many reasons I love art and literature – we all consume the same ‘thing’ - whether that’s an artwork or a novel – but we all experience them differently. Ways of Seeing is all about exploring and celebrating different responses to art and literature through a range of innovative and creative workshops and events.
